Between Milestones

This project investigates how Gen Z is navigating adulthood in a world where traditional life milestones, such as building a career, getting married, buying a home, or starting a family, are being increasingly delayed, redefined, or rejected. These markers, once seen as universal indicators of "growing up," no longer hold the same meaning or attainability for many young adults today.

Through in-depth conversations and generational reflection, this research seeks to understand how Gen Z is making sense of adulthood in the absence of a clear roadmap. What new values, priorities, and everyday rituals are emerging in place of conventional milestones? And how might these evolving definitions of adulthood reshape how we design for and engage with this generation - socially, culturally, and economically?
